School Overview

Wentworth Military Academy and College is a military junior college and a 4 year college prep high school. It is located in Lexington. It is one of the oldest military academies in the west side of Mississippi River. This is one of 5 junior colleges in the whole of the US. The school is best known for its Early Commissioning Program and the ROTC. In the two programs, qualified students can earn a commission as Second Lieutenants after the 2 years in college. The school also has a 100% acceptance into the US Air Force Academy. A Falcon Foundation Scholarship has also been in place for the past two decades.

Wentworth Military Academy and College was formed in 1880 as a military school. The campus rests on 137 acres. The school has a capacity of 1500 students. What is more is that the college is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The military high school is accredited by the AdvancED. The school is also a member of The Association of Boarding Schools, National Association of Community Colleges, Association of Military Colleges and Schools of the United States, National Association of Independent Schools and more.
