The Military College of Georgia opened its doors in 1873. At the time, it was known as the North Georgia Agricultural College. Today, it is often referred to as the University of Northern Georgia and is one of the only 6 senior military colleges in the United States. It is one of the first schools to grant a degree to female graduates in its class of 1879. This military school is today a progressive and innovative institution that excels in academics.
As a coed military school, The Military College of Georgia gives the undergraduates four choices; the schools of business, arts and letters, education and the science and health professions. The undergraduates can also earn a master’s degree. Special attention is paid in athletic abilities. The ROTC program has also a remarkable reputation.

Students can apply under the undergraduate admissions, cadet admissions, international studies or the graduate studies admission. The Blue Mountains that surround The Military College of Georgia offers numerous opportunities for students to explore nature as well as make friends within the school and in the nearby towns.
