School Overview
The Maine Maritime Academy was established in 1941. It is one of the two post-secondary schools offering Navy Reserve Officer Training Corp, better known as ROTC. This is a military school that serves both male and female students. The students can earn associate via master’s degrees in 17 areas.

This public school has been designated as having the best engineering programs in the country and it is considered one of the best colleges in New England. It is accredited by the New England Association of Schools & Colleges as a post-secondary school.

Students in this military school have the option of choosing a degree in 5 topics. The study fields include Engineering and technology and operations, Business, Science and Marine Transportation and other interdisciplinary studies.

Maine Maritime Academy supports sports programs for both genders. The programs include basketball, lacrosse, football and golf. An ROTC program is also available. Most of the students study to become US Merchant Marines. Students who do not get into the ROTC program lead a normal life in campus.
 
What to Expect
Admission into Maine Maritime Academy is based mainly on previous education and prior attendance. Admission requirements are similar to other colleges since this is not a federal academy. Students should apply before December 31.
