School Overview
The campus of Francis Marion Military Academy is located in Ocala, Florida. The school was founded back in 2008 and is named after General Marion. It follows the requirements of the Marion county public school. This is a public charter school and its tuition is free. However, all the students must apply and be accepted. The school has a capacity of 170 students and currently serves students in 9th to 12th grade.

To attend this military school, students must be ready to take all the classes specified by the state of Florida. Students in need of a challenging academic route have the option of joining the AP and Honor classes. There is also the option of taking the dual enrollment for the students with a good academic standing. The dual enrollment enables them to earn a college credit from the College of Central Florida while still in high school. Leadership classes are also available. All students must also participate in the JROTC program. ā€˜Cā€™ average is a requirement for students enrolling in this military prep school.

What to Expect
In Francis Marion Military Academy, students have 14 different uniforms that they wear and maintain properly. The hair of boys must not be longer than their collar and girls must tie their hair if it passes the collar. The uniforms are inspected every day. Students do not pay tuition fees or buy textbooks or uniforms. Parents are, however, required to buy the PT uniform as well as the casual uniforms. All applicants must pass a drug test.
